And the winner is..... Breakfast!

Breakfast New Mexico Style won best travel book at the New Mexico Book Awards on Friday night.

Here we are with our trophy.


After the presentations Michael McGarrity came up to us and congratulated us on the book. He won the award for Friends of New Mexico Books. He seemed quite taken to be given the award, and explained that as a writer you apply to win all sorts of awards, but rarely has he been given an award out of the blue - and for that he was honored. Michael McGarrity came to our first book signing ever at the Vista Grande Library. He was so generous when he came to that signing, he spent time telling us the story about the publication of his first book.


It was a great evening, and an honor to have our book entered into the competition by our publisher. We owe much of the book's greatness to the librarians in New Mexico who contributed great writing about some of New Mexico's best restaurants.
