Birding at Ranchos de las Golondrinas
We took a birding class through the Santa Fe Community College last week. We met at Ranchos de las Golindrinas at 7am to be in the trees as the sun was rising. The pictures below don't include any of the birds we saw (curved bill thrasher, scrub jay, red tail hawk, woodpecker, a dead flicker, ravens, white-breasted nuthatch, dark-eyed junco, house sparrow, and several unidentified ducks). The landscape was so stunning. It was the coldest day of the season so far, so we were cold to the bone on our hike, but it was a beautiful morning.
