Swati's Book Signing

Above: Swati signing her new book, Split - on sale everywhere now! The signing was at a new beautiful independent bookstore in Albuquerque - Alamosa Books.
Sunday
Mineral Point, WI
Mineral Point was named one of the Coolest Small Towns in the US by Budget Traveler Magazine. And it is really cool!
We ate lunch at the Brewery Creek Inn - which is also a bed and breakfast. It was a great experience.

A used bookstore in Mineral Point - Foundry Books.

Mineral Point reminded me and Joel of Mt. Vernon, IA. Here is the main street. The main street has a pharmacy and a 5 and Dime.

Below is a farm right outside of Mineral Point. It reminded me of a Grant Wood painting.

Books in Las Cruces
Las Cruces has two great bookstores. The two images below are from COAS, one of the best used bookstores ever. The New Mexico Library Association had an opening reception for a conference in this store 3 years ago. It was a great place for a reception. The store is giant and wandering, and around every corner there were intereing people to talk to and if the conversation waned, there were thousands of books to pull off the shelves and talk about.

The photo below is from the Book Center in Old Mesilla. This store has a great Southwest collection and a great collection of children's books. This is a store I remember going to most of my life with mom and dad. It is right on the plaza in Old Mesilla and is a wandering old store with lots of interesting places for good books to hide.
